Q- What is your primary purpose for doing yoga? What keeps you motivated and how long have you been practicing?
I’ve been doing yoga for 2 years now and my motivation has always been staying fit both mentally and physically. Yoga not only keeps me busy during my swim team’s off season, but also helps me with self-acceptance and staying relaxed and calm off the mat.
Q- How do you keep yourself going when life gets in the way?
-When life gets in the way I find that diving into a good book (such as Harry Potter) always helps! It’s a nice way to take a break when I’m stressed with school because I can stop, read a few chapters, and get back to what I was doing.
Q- What have you noticed are the biggest benefits of doing yoga? How has it made a difference in your life?
-Yoga has helped me become self-aware and gain the muscle I need for the swim season when it starts (thanks Kimberly!) It has also given me peace, something I treasure when I have a lot going on at school.
Q- What one thing do you like to share with others about yoga (especially for people who haven't tried it).
- I encourage anyone and everyone to give yoga a try! It’s the most wonderful gift you could yourself and you’ll find that you will be happier, more accepting, and overall a better person because of it.
